The Plan is Staring !

 

On the field Asher and his friend were playing a game of war. when Jonas got to the field he felt strange because all the friends having fun and enjoying the game but then Jonas ask to stop because of the memory of war he dint not think that this was a game . Then in his training Jonas learned about the receiver that was before him, rosemary was her name. The giver has I love with her but when she received the bad memories she ask for relist. The giver felt really sad. A few days later Jonas finally asks the definition of realest. The giver decides to show Jonas what they do with the people that get realest. What they do is they kill them with a lethal shot. Jonas was shock of what had happened. The most interesting thing that happened is when the giver and Jonas planed to give the memories and what they will do is that Jonas is going to get out of the community.....

Will jonas be able to complit the plan?

 "The giver would transfer every memory of courage ans strength that he could to Jonas." (158)

 

One thing that the author is trying to tell us is that the memories are very important and memories can make a person change. Jonas now has change in different ways. first when the giver gave him memories of bad things like war he became more wiser and cereus like when his friend were playing a game of war he didn’t like the game because he thought that this was not funny and fun to play.  Also when he is giving memories of strength and courage so he can learn from it to become one.

In conclusion a memory makes a person change and depends on the memory they have to determent if they can change in a good way or a bad way. but you always can get the best of you like Jonas that never gave up one his job even when he receive the worst memories and that makes him brave. Memories make you change that what the author is telling us the importance of memories in our self in the change it makes on you!

 

New memories!

The perspective of Jonas world has changed.

Jonas has more memories each days of colors, animal’s and snow but also he have received a lot of pain.  He has been receiving good and bad memory’s some relay painful. One think very important is that they are afraid of making wrong choices. That is way the elders chose all for them. Like the entire days baby Gabriel is on Jonas house. But this time Jonas is sleeping with him. Jonas all the night tells baby Gabe the memories so he gets sleep. The memories are not being told the memories are given to Gabe like the memory of ocean but Gabe is able to receive the memories. One day the giver asks Jonas if he could take the pain and Jonas lay down and the giver gave him the memory of war. Jonas was very scared and had a lot of pain, the giver felt really bad for giving him the memory so quickly and the few days he gave him only good memories so he can see that in the world there are good and bad things. After the memory of war Jonas felt very painless and he didn't want to receive the memories, he doesn't want to feel more pain but he still went to train. Then the giver gives him the memory of Christmas and also the memory so animals of a horse, but Jonas wanted to have all the things. But the elders take it because they don’t want the community to feel love and these memories of animals have love because it makes you feel love.

 






"But now i can see the colors, at least sometimes, I was just thinking: what if we could hold up thinks that were bright red or bright yellow, and he could choose? Instead of sameness.

"He might make wrong choices."

"Oh." Jonas was silent for a minute. "Oh, I see what you ment". (Lowry 98)

I chose this quote because i think is very interesting. This quote is showing that they are afraid of making wrong choices. They are afraid of being released; this community is built on fear. Also the elders want a perfect community with no mistakes, so they chose everything for the people in the community so they don’t make mistakes. But for me the elders are making the life for them is like a society of robots. All is control for them; they just need to make what they said. In my opinion I think is better is they let them chose because i think what makes you stronger is when you learn from your mistakes, from your wrong choices. But in this society they are not strong they are week and have non liberty of being different being individual. 

Finally what I am trying to say is that for me the community is boring and I think that Jonas is realizing that too because he is seeing that every day they do the same in the community. They have the dream telling the go to school then at night feelings and the same every day. Every day Jonas goes to train but after the giver show Jonas such painful memories he really don’t want more memories. Now talking about memories way do you think Gabe is able to receive the memories and is Jonas getting out of memories? I think that the elders only use the receiver of memories so they can consult on what to do. Like for example they use the memories so they don’t

make wrong chose like in the past or if they don’t know something they ask him if it had happened before or if he knows what to do. For the elders the memories are not important. I predict that Jonas somehow is going to share the memories to the community and so they can see what the elders have been hiding for them all there life’s. And will be able to be stronger and to decide what they want in there life’s.

Receiving memories

Last chapters I have read 9- 12

This few chapters... Jonas is selected to be the new memory receiver, he haves his new rules and he is a little afraid. the rules are he may ask any question and citizens will give him the answer, he cannot tell about his training, he cannot tell his dreams, he cannot apply for release and he may lie. On his first day on training the giver show his first memory. the memory was of snow, Jonas enjoyed playing in the snow and with a sled, then he received a memory of a sunshine, it was beautiful but then the giver show a little of pain of a sunburn. In his second day the giver told that beyond means to see in color, Jonas stared seeing red, like the apple,the sled or in Fiona’s hair both were red. He told Jonas that he is going to see other colors and memories in the next weeks.

After receiving the memory of snow Jonas had allot of questions. "¨but he had, suddenly, so many questions. Why don’t we have snow, and sleds, and hills? ·" 
The giver responds "climate control. Snow made growing food difficult, limited the agricultural periods."(lowry 85 ) this quote is showing that the elders have total control of the community. This quote also is telling the importance of the memories in this community. They are so important that only one haves the memory of all the things that the elders have taken. No one in the community haves a any idea of what outside of Jonas community.  One thing question I what you to think is way dose the elders take away the real thing outside the community. Dose this affects the community to be perfect? This connects to the theme of individuality because in the community elders decide that there shod not be any individuality but Jonas is the only one that receives memories and that is showing individuality. i think individuality is very important because that what makes different one person then another and Jonas society they are all the same.

 

My thinking

This few chapter have been very important because they have teaching us many things about the community like now we know that there is no individuality there is no snow, and there are many thing outside the community that the community doesn’t now about. Jonas for the first time felt physical pain in his training and I predict that he is going to receive allots more pain than sunburn. Now we know that the memories are very important in this community because only one person is able to have it and the memories are the truth of a normal world outside the community. In conclusion the memories are not always good. And I think that every good memory comes with a bad memory.
